SUMMARY
This week David and Marina are joined by Architect Wid Chapman, Founding Principal of Wid Chapman Architects, Interior Design & Architecture teacher and Former Chair of the Interior Design Department at Parsons, The New School for Design. We discuss the differences between interior design and architecture (are there any?), teaching philosophies and pedagogies, strategies for learning design and how education has changed with recent technological advancements.

ABOUT WID
The practice is led by Wid Chapman, AIA, who received his architectural education at Rhode Island School of Design. He is a former chair of the Interior Design Department at Parsons School of Design, where he currently serves on its senior faculty.
Wid’s work has been featured on NBC Open House, and he has been a guest on podcasts including The Second Studio and webinars including Architectural Record’s Great Design Begins with Color. He has lectured in the U.S., Brazil, the Dominican Republic, France, India, Malaysia, Singapore, and most recently, remotely in Pakistan. A lifestyle design authority, he is co-author of the topical books Home Design in an Aging World (Fairchild Books, 2008) and Unassisted Living (Random House, 2011).
